Fun at Gateway

We decided to look at the shops in the Gateway while we were already down in Salt Lake. We got down to the end where the fountains and there were lots of kids running through them. Sheldon took Abbie through them and all I could hear was her screaming but still standing there holding Sheldon's shorts. Not too much later she started pulling at his shorts walking around. She got drenched, not to mention Sheldon.

A day at the ZOO

We had so much fun at the zoo. The only thing was it seemed a lot smaller than when Sheldon and I were little. They did take out the lions, hippos, and the "western" area. Oh, well. We had fun, especially the kids.

Hells Canyon

We were able to go up to Oregon with Sheldon's family to fish on the Snake River. Sheldon's mom part of the family has been doing this for years. It used to be her dad and the boys thing. Now who ever wants to go goes. We packed up the car, the 5th wheel, and truck and headed out. We got to about Mountain Home Idaho and the truck started smoking. Sheldon told his dad he needed to pull over so they could take a look at it to see what was going on. Come to find out something was wrong with the engine and now we were trying to figure out what to do with the truck and the trip. Shalan rented a van and our cousin's wife grew up in that very town and her parents still lives there. They let us park the 5th wheel and truck there so we were able to go. We packed the car more and the van and headed off. We got up there late but none the less we were happy we made it.

Friday we went fishing along the river but didn't have much luck until we went down the road at a dam, don't remember what the name was. We were catching them left and right. Sheldon, Cameron, Shalan, Angie, and Sheldon's dad went farther and sat on a cliff to fish. Sheldon's mom and I stayed back and played with the kids, which was really entertaining!

Saturday all us kids and Sheldon's dad when on this jet boat ride down the Snake River. Abbie and Nixxon were too small to go so Sheldon's mom was nice enough to watch them while we went, Sheldon's parents went last year. We went through rapids, they were awesome. One was called the Green Room, Granite. They took us down the river to fish and to catch Sturgeons. We got some videos of Sheldon and I trying to reel one in. We all got the chance to reel and man is this fish strong. When it was my turn I put the belt on, to help hold the reel and to not hurt my leg etc from the reel pushing on them. I also had to place my foot on the rail so I wouldn't go over board. It didn't seem to help much, don't worry I didn't fall in. The fish was pulling and I couldn't hold my ground very well like everyone else. Sheldon was able to bring it up to the surface. It really wasn't what I was expecting but it was cool. Angie hates fish, the smell of them, and will NOT touch them but likes to go fish. This is and most likely will be the only fish she has and will ever touch. Yes, she did touch the sturgeon.
