Pioneer Days

We went to the Pioneer Museum in Ogden on Thursday July 24th. We wanted to see my great aunt Mildred. She was the first attendant to the Pioneer Queen. She was so excited. They had a lot of activities that you could do there. They made candy the old fashion way, you could make covered wagons, play games, make dolls, and dress up like the pioneers did back in the day. Jackie, my little sister, went to get Abbie a bonnet but she found a piece of cloth instead. Once she put it on Abbie she left it on the rest of the day. Jackie and I got to make some dolls out of fabric, it was a lot of fun. The bottom picture is the doll Jackie made for Abbie. In the museum there was old clothes, furniture, and tools. The funny thing is when we were walking through the museum I found things that my grandma Anderson had in her house up the the day she died, back in March of this year. To make it even crazier my mom said she remembers using them when she was little. Over all we had a lot of fun and can't wait to take Abbie next year when she could do more things.

Cherry Days

We went to the North Ogden Cherry Days parade. Abbie was excited to see so many people and different things that she hasn't seen before. I surprised to see that she didn't scream or cry at the loud noises from the police cars and fire trucks. She ended up falling asleep in the middle of the parade. It was so warm but we ended up having a lot of fun. My little brother Taylor and nephew Jeremy took water guns and a lot of water to squirt the people going by on the floats.

Swimming

Here she is in her swimming suite. We went to the Roy Aquatic Center for my work yesterday. At first she didn't want to go in, but after she got used to it she was fine. She had to have someone holding her close or she would throw a fit, so her floaty was out of the question to use. Abbie would put her hand in and pull it out with water sitting in her palm and look at it as if she never saw it before. It was quite amusing. There were kids around splashing and laughing so Abbie though she had to try and splash by kicking her legs. When we getting ready to leave so I put her in the stroller to get everything together and she crashed. I guess swimming really wore her out. Next time we are going to go with friends and try out her floaty.
